THE TAVERN AT LARK CREEK INTRODUCES NEW ERA OF NEIGHBORHOOD DINING TO LARKSPUR, OPENING IN LATE MAY

New restaurant opens in the space of legendary The Lark Creek Inn, offering value-oriented seasonal dining and libations

Dear Friends:

A generation ago, The Lark Creek Inn captured more than a sliver of the Bay Area culinary zeitgeist. Since that August night in 1989, we have greeted over 1,500,000 guests, hosted some 500 weddings, and celebrated thousands of birthdays and anniversaries, and lived through multiple earthquakes. We emerged from more than one recession, handled the effects of the millennium meltdown and survived the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 tragedy.

Through it all, we have never waivered in our dedication to seasonal farm-fresh American fare and all-American wines. And while the prim and proper Lark Creek Inn was our vision some 20 years ago, we now have a new vision. One prompted not only by the world economic crises, but also because the dining environment has changed of its own volition. Today the emphasis is on neighborhood versus destination, lower prices versus higher ones, and simplicity versus complexity.

After Easter dinner service on April 12, The Lark Creek Inn, in its current iteration, will close. Close for the mason to rebuild the wood-burning oven in the dining room and the painter to repaint the interiors. For the gardener to plant a new herb garden and the millworker to rework the wainscot, columns and table tops. And more.

When we reopen a month or so later, there will be a new sign outside which reflects our new vision: The Tavern at Lark Creek. We will welcome neighbors and travelers alike. The wonderful seasonal food will be orchestrated by Culinary Director and James Beard Foundation Rising Star finalist Adrian Hoffman and Chef-Partner Erica Holland Toll. There will be a new exciting wine and spirit program and prices will be low and value high. All will take place, of course, in one of the most inviting restaurant settings anywhere, our 1888 Victorian nestled in the redwoods beside a flowing creek.

As for all of you, our loyal customers for nearly 20 years, we say thank you. We hope we will see you soon at The Tavern at Lark Creek.

Sincerely,

Michael & Leslye Dellar Bradley & Jody Ogden
