Annual "Gingerbread Inn" Benefit Holiday Event
(continued...)
"We are thrilled to kick off the holiday season once again by hosting The Gingerbread Inn," says Tom Blix, General Manager of The Lark Creek Inn. "This event has been a tremendous success in years past, and it is so rewarding to see the Bay Area community come together for such a great cause."
Led by Pastry Chefs Deirdre Davis of The Lark Creek Inn and Patti Dellamonica-Bauler from One Market, a team of renowned California pastry chefs - including Elizabeth Falkner, Citizen Cake; Emily Luchetti, Farallon; Leena Hung, Fifth Floor; Ethan Howard, Bouchon Bakery; Sherry Yard, Spago, Beverly Hills; Courtney Luddon, Piazza D'Angelo; Amy Grenier, Insalata's; Jill Branch and Ann Sakai, Branching Out Custom Wedding Cakes; and former Lark Creek Inn Pastry Chef Caitlin Olesky - will assist guests in building their own gingerbread dream houses.
Tickets to the event, which are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, cost $125.00 per person, and each guest will receive a toolbox containing all of the building blocks necessary to create a signature gingerbread house, including edible walls, royal icing, pastry bags, classic holiday candy decorations and other sweet treats, donated by San Rafael's Cake Art Supplies. The houses are the "builders" to take home or to donate to the cause.
The festivities will also include a raffle drawing for donated prizes such as a Kitchen Aid Mixer signed by the team of pastry chefs; a Tea Basket designed by Philip Alvidrez from Grand Amore; a Coffee Basket from Marin Coffee Roasters; a Sports Basket with private tennis lessons from Rafael Raquet club with professional tennis player Lisa Berg; and a Dining Basket with gift certificates to Bay Area restaurants. Carolers from the local a capella group, "The Fourth Street Beat," and Nutcracker-clad ballet students from The Stapleton School of Performing Arts in San Anselmo will provide entertainment. Santa Claus will also make a special appearance. All proceeds will be donated to Whistlestop Meals, Wheels and More, a non-profit organization providing seniors in Marin County with meals, transportation and multicultural services throughout the year.
For reservations, please call Whistlestop at 415.456.9062 ext.121.
